How It Works
Are You a Potential Customer?

You rent the REnU based on its size and capacity to generate electricity. The performance of the REnU is measured in kilowatt-hours or kWh. If the system generates zero kWh, clearly something is wrong! Citizen will make all repairs and no rent will be charged for that period. The system is monitored daily to catch any such performance issues. A utility grade meter is also in place to ensure that your REnU is performing up to specifications.

Your estimated monthly rent will be explained to you before you sign a Forward Rental Agreement (FRA). The monthly rent is fixed once your Site Visit confirms the size of your REnU. Once the rent is confirmed, it is guaranteed for the duration of your FRA.

Citizen guarantees that your REnU is designed to produce as close to your average electricity needs as possible, given the characteristics of your house and location. We determine this amount by calculating the average of your three prior years of electricity consumption. By designing a system that meets your average annual needs, we expect that your system’s solar production will offset a significant portion of your annual utility bill.
